Well you know how kids are during airplanes... especially the young ones.
FreyFox 23rd Oct 2020, 1:21 AM
That’s why she isn’t travelling yet! :P
David31 23rd Oct 2020, 12:02 AM
Russ is either going to confess that she hasn't actually slept for an hour or for some reason that smell isn't coming from Amanda. LOL! :D
FreyFox 23rd Oct 2020, 12:12 AM
Linda thought "nappy" meant "nap" :P
David31 24th Oct 2020, 5:33 AM
Ah yes you're correct there. My bad. Completely forgot that this is an American wife dealing with a British family. :D
Excelsior_Thirty 23rd Oct 2020, 12:50 AM
Oh boy and girl, the stewardesses will have their hands full making the airline smell good again... (I know it well. My sister had an accident once, and it smelled in mid-flight; no diaper! My family had to get a blanket to cover her bottom up and had to constantly help the cabin crew spray neutralizing odor in the fuselage.)
FreyFox 23rd Oct 2020, 1:20 AM
Amanda wasn’t travelling, Take note that it is Russell’s parents who have luggage and not Russ and Linda. :)
Excelsior_Thirty 23rd Oct 2020, 6:42 AM
Ah, I see.
However, you can say too that Amanda has brought "some personal unwanted luggage"...
WCP 23rd Oct 2020, 12:55 AM
Russ, you’ve been with her for six years, married for almost four years...and you STILL haven’t taught her all of the British slang! :P
Thomas K Dye 23rd Oct 2020, 3:50 AM
When would he ever have an opportunity to use the British word for "diaper"?
kennethsarmstrong 23rd Oct 2020, 7:36 AM
Queen’s English is not easy to learn for an American English speaker. Russell and Linda may have been married for four years, but it is going to take time for her to be able to know what Russell is saying. A book or website focusing on Queen’s English might be able to help her.

In the film Austin Powers in Goldmember, Austin and his father noted the differences between Queen’s English and American English. Subtitles appeared noting what they were saying in Queen’s English.

Installing Windows gives the user a choice of four varieties of English to use.

Benny Hill sketch, where he plays Henry the Eighth:

Benny Hill: Come, wench, a kiss for you king!

Wench: What would your queen say?

Benny: Oh, never mind about him!

Uh oh, someone forgot to change a diaper. Parents, this is why boys need to play with dolls when they are little.
Shaggy 23rd Oct 2020, 2:02 AM
I know what a nappy is but why do they call it that?
FreyFox 23rd Oct 2020, 9:35 AM
I dunno, why do Americans call it a diaper? :P
Shaggy 23rd Oct 2020, 2:04 PM
I dunno. LOL
kennethsarmstrong 23rd Oct 2020, 11:15 PM
I think that a lot of Americans think of nappies as napkins. Napkins are used for the dinner table and not for babies.

Does Linda use a cloth or disposable diaper?
FreyFox 24th Oct 2020, 10:40 AM
I don't think that's important lol
kennethsarmstrong 25th Oct 2020, 3:31 AM
It is safe to assume that Linda likely uses disposable diapers. Disposable diapers are easier to use because they do not have to be taken home to be washed. There is also the matter of putting a used cloth diaper in something that will keep the odor from getting out until it can be washed 🤢. (I am sure that most animals have a good sense of smell; animals can notice odors better than most humans can.)

I can feel for Linda here, I do imagine it must be hard to prove to your spouse's parents (whichever gender you are) that you are a good parent to their grandchild. Although I think they'll be fine with how she's doing because she's already on good terms with them. If she had gotten off to a bad foot meeting them, they'd be much more likely to over-analyze everything they see her doing with their grandkid and be sure to tell Russ that he messed up marrying her :D Like, for example, Russ not being on the best of terms with Linda's mom, I can imagine *her* scrutinizing every little detail of Russ' fatherhood XD

Also I'm getting damn tired of my comments showing up on the previous strip instead of the current one. I am really starting to hate the new comments system! :(
FreyFox 23rd Oct 2020, 9:36 AM
I've not been having that problem, but there's unfortunately nothing I can do about it because it's the host that changed it :(
kennethsarmstrong 23rd Oct 2020, 11:16 PM
I have yet to run into that problem.
David31 24th Oct 2020, 5:34 AM
I haven't been having that problem. My comments are being posted on the correct strip each time. That is rather odd that only you have been having this issue for some reason?
kennethsarmstrong 27th Oct 2020, 12:17 AM
Try another browser if this problem continues. Make sure you check the strip you are commenting on before submitting you're response.

Got to hate it when babies decide to poop themselves while they're sleeping. Strange how neither of them smelled it on the way here.
kennethsarmstrong 25th Oct 2020, 7:26 AM
Neither Russell nor Linda likely noticed Amanda's... accident until they got her out of the car seat. Both likely noticed when Amanda's grandmother picked her up from the stroller.

Eww XD
kennethsarmstrong 27th Oct 2020, 12:12 AM

Ferris looks good in that New Year's costume he is wearing. What is Renata's (sp?) problem?

"An infant in your lap will dampen your dreams" - Garfield
kennethsarmstrong 28th Oct 2020, 4:52 PM
That sounds more like Garfield venting about Nermal. He is so cute that it makes Garfield jealous.

(Cats are very territorial. When two or more cats are in the same area, they will fight. Garfield barely tolerates Odie but does everything he can to rid himself of Nermal. Nonetheless, Nermal eventually comes back to annoy Garfield.)

Well..., how can anyone miss that new baby smell?😏
