*BINGO*! That's the reference I was making. I remembered seeing that Looney Tunes cartoon on Cartoon Network when I was a kid :D

And there goes Lyle. He won't be missed.

Now can Brett please die too? I know he has his fans who will be sad if he dies but seriously, he's like two seconds from raping Jess' brains out. I don't see how anyone can be cool with or forgiving of that and anyone who would say so disturbs the hell out of me. The poor girl is gonna need some serious therapy after this! I'm not kidding Frey, poor Jess is gonna SERIOUSLY need a hug when this is all over...

Agreed, Brett is pretty much this comic's Scrappy

FORTUNATELY! Lyle failed to learn that lesson

There's a reason the bow and arrow was invented years before guns were, Lyle, and you just demonstrated it.

Absolutely love that demented " The Shinning " reference.
GoodKaptainKook 16th Oct 2019, 11:17 PM edit delete reply
GoodKaptainKook
You mean the Shining, the Shinning is the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror parody of it XD

"I'm Mike Wallace, I'm Morley Safer, and I'm Ed Bradley! All this and Andy Rooney tonight on 60 Minutes!!"
K.C. 18th Oct 2019, 4:32 PM edit delete reply
I blame spellcheck for that blunder. No, not the simpsons, I meant the first movie with Jack.
K.C. 17th Oct 2019, 11:46 PM edit delete reply
Just as a crazy after thought, but what if Jack junior tells Brett to give Jess his shirt. As something for her to cover up with before the police show up.
karmakat 11th Oct 2019, 11:46 AM edit delete reply
don't bring a butter knife to a shotgun...
ConvoyWolf 11th Oct 2019, 4:43 PM edit delete reply
Randals gone full Nicholson. Brett is doomed.

It looks like Jack Sr finally put Lyle out of his misery. That scene reminds me of a scene from the movie The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, where the main character is goaded into a fight, and ends up shooting the other guy instead. Of course there is also that scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark, where a swordsman swings a sword at Indiana Jones, and then Jones pulled out a gun ans shoots him instead. I guess the old saying never bring a knife to a gun fight certainly applies here. Besides, Jack Sr has arthitis, and that would have been a be very fair fight.
FreyFox 12th Oct 2019, 9:07 AM edit delete reply
FreyFox
Exactly, and I think in any scenario you should always use whatever advantages you have to stay alive. Randall Sr just did what most people would do.
Thwaitesy 12th Oct 2019, 1:02 AM edit delete reply
I love how you drew Jess trying to lean away from Brett when he's on either side of her.

He's not nice company is he?
GoodKaptainKook 12th Oct 2019, 10:55 PM edit delete reply
GoodKaptainKook
Well, Frey, you know you've got a few fans of this comic who would lean *towards* Brett in this situation...
KSArmstrong 12th Oct 2019, 5:06 AM edit delete reply
I finally was able to blow up the picture of the last panel showing Lyle being blown out of his mansion's attic window. I suppose that was justified on Jack Sr's part because Lyle wanted to "settle this like warriors" by handing him a sword. Had Jack Sr acepted Lyle's challenge, this would not have been a fair fight since Jack Sr has arthritis, and was all but winded having to go up the stairs to Lyle's attic in his mansion.

They kidnapped his granddaughter. Did he realy think he would give a damn piece on something like a honorable fight? Kiddo saw to much Hollywood movies.
Excelsior_Thirty 12th Oct 2019, 9:51 AM edit delete reply
The good ol' Jack Nickolson's "Here's Johnny!" from "The Shining (1980)." Hope that Brett does not have the gun loaded when Randall Jr. opens-if really, you're going to recreate that scene, Frey...
KSArmstrong 12th Oct 2019, 11:01 PM edit delete reply
Any chance you might be able to get Jack, the lapine Grim Reaper, to drop by and collect Brett and Lyle's souls? It couldn't happen to two nicer souls, given all the sick people who happen to represent the Seven Deadly Sins who inhabit you-know-where.

Sure why not ^^. David Hopkins actually helped out with a few lines.

Is Hopkins even around? Jack has disappeared long ago.

D-Rock 16th Oct 2019, 4:11 AM edit delete reply
Yeah, I think he crossed the threshold for honorable combat by sending goons to his sons place to get him to sell. The attempted assault on him, the kidnapping and threatened rape of his granddaughter were just further bounds away from said threshold.

Here is a twisted thought. I doubt you would be intrested in this, but putting the Road Runner up against Jack Jr, sounds like a nice idea. Something tells me that, like Wile E. Coyote, Jack Jr would end up nearly killing himself or falling off a cliff trying to catch the Road Runner. Of course, we all know that Jack Jr has the patience of Yosemite Sam, along with his explosive temper…
